Given the increasingly stringent demands in the food industry, a different kind of conveyor belt has emerged on the market over the past few years. Colloquially, it is called the full PU-belt. This type does not contain any fabric, which means that the belt does not fray in case of mechanical damage. Conventional conveyor belts have to be clamped so they produce sufficient friction onto the driving pulley to enable their movement. The full Pu-belt is powered by gear wheels and has ridges at its underside. Therefore, it needs little or no tension whatsoever to make it run. This type of belt is easy to clean and meets all EU/FDA-regulations.
